Fun. My team has been in shambles the past week, culminating with the impressive loss of potential you ace Yovanni Gallardo. This is the kind of injury that is back-breaking. And corrosively obnoxious considering the guy only gave up FOUR RUNS IN 20 INNINGS AND RECEIVED THREE RUNS OF SUPPORT. Brutal.
Every weakness of my pitching staff was revealed this past week. I felt like I was alone and naked in the cold dark night of the deserts of time. Also I felt like breaking Reed Johnson’s knee (just watched an hour of “Torture” on the History Channel, included a ten minute segment on Hammurabi’s Code, it was great).
I won’t go in to details, but my team has plummeted. I arranged a quick trade with Eick, nabbing James Shields for Corey Hart. I love Corey Hart. This deal hurt but I got a great Gallardo-clone here with a slightly better defense behind him.
And maybe, someday in the future, I’ll see your nice batting average and steals and homers and beards and mustaches on my future teams.
Also, yeah, I’ve been reading Ball Four. But I need more levity in my life.

That guy HATES Scotty Pods. HATES him.
shields is dope and that was a great trade, i think you’ll be ok, hey, you did gain 8 points yesterday!
Just wanted to say I dig your blog man, its hilarious. Horribly tough break with Gallardo but you made a good move in aquiring Shields to stop the bleeding. Any time you feel bad about run support (as mentioned in regards to Gallardo), just remember that some poor bastard in your league owns Aaron Harang. I own him in my league and I want to catch a flight to Cincy so I can personally pimp hand every one of the Reds starting 8. The guy is only getting about 2.5 runs per game for support and has produced a quality start in all but one of his outings thus far and sits at a lowly 1-5 with approximately a 3.00 era. Makes me want to break something just thinking about it. Again, good blog man I look forward to future posts.
a rando!
randor?
Yeah, Harang is getting absolutely hosed this year. He’s 1-5 with a freaking sub-3.50 ERA? Awful.
the opposite of harang is volquez, who appears to be getting all the reds run support. they hit 7 home runs with him on the mound, yesterday. i don’t know what the average works out to, but in 7 starts they’ve failed to score at least 8 runs in only 2… in which they scored 0. and in the last game they scored 0, volquez gave up one run in 6 while striking out 9. ouchies.
don’t worry, dusty let him pitch 120 pitches up 9 runs because he enjoys destroying pitchers and pretending like it is still 1965
edinson will never pitch like this again after this season when he has to have three arm surgeries and johnny cueto’s shoulder explodes
i don’t care. it’s not a keeper league.
